Kef fire risk 01/07/23: Medium

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £0.8899 GBP
1 €UR = $1.1266 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1237 €UR
$1 USD = 0.8876 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

News circulating on Kef that the wife of Pink Floyd pianist Rick Wright lives in Skala & Athens, here's part of a Wikipedia article:

Quote
Wright married his first wife, Juliette Gale, in 1964. She had been a singer in one of the early bands that evolved into Pink Floyd. They had two children and divorced in 1982. Wright's second marriage, to Franka, lasted from 1984 to 1994. Wright married his third wife, Mildred "Millie" Hobbs, in 1995, with whom he had a son, Ben. Wright's 1996 solo album Broken China is about her battle with depression. They separated in 2007. Wright's daughter Gala was married to the bassist Guy Pratt, who toured and recorded with Pink Floyd after the departure of Waters.

Wright had been fond of the Greek islands since a sabbatical visit in 1964, before Pink Floyd formed. He moved to Greece in 1984 after the Zee project, briefly retiring from music, and enjoyed sailing and yachting. In the 1970s, he acquired a property in Lindos, Rhodes. In his later years, Wright lived in Le Rouret, France, and spent time on a yacht he owned in the Virgin Islands. He found sailing therapeutic, relieving him from the pressures of the music business. He was also a collector of Persian rugs.

Fond memories of life with Rick Wright by Franka Wright on lesoleilfoundation.com

"Of all the stories about adulterous rock stars, it must rank as one of the worst." A different side of that life in an interview she gave to the dailymail.co.uk

No mention of Kefalonia but this property in Skala is advertised for sale:

"Richard Wright, the famous pianist and member of the legendary british rock band PINK FLOYD used to live there together with Franka Wright, his ex wife, who is still taking care of the property up to this day." mantasrealestate.com

Exclusive: Rishi Sunak gives £10 wine bottle to school raffle after giving US college $3million
The mega-rich PM who is worth more than half a billion pounds picked the cheapest wine from the House of Commons shop to donate to Leyburn Primary School in his constituency

The PTFA held a summer ball on Friday night to raise money. It put the bottle as one of several prizes in a £1-a-ticket raffle as they did not think it would attract enough interest to auction it by itself.
