Kaspersky, recently in the news after accusations from America that their AV spies for Russia, have released a free version of their anti-virus program, read about it at ghacks.net

Worried about Kaspersky? Almost certainly you're using American software on hardware manufactured in China.

No more news of Kef's seaplane service but the idea in general is getting off the ground, well, treading water, anyway: the South Aegean Region islands look likely to be linked by seaplanes and a Japanese corporation, Mitsui, is getting involved.

'Don't finish the course of antibiotics' - experts turn medical advice on its head

Doctors must stop telling patients to finish an entire course of antibiotics because it is driving antimicrobial resistance, a group of eminent specialists has warned.

Patients should be encouraged to continue taking medication only until they feel better, to avoid the overuse of drugs, experts from bodies including Public Health England and the University of Oxford are now advising.

No worries, I'm sure they'll have an ef'an'al cocktail waiting for you.

Latest from Greece:

Quote
The European Commission offered 209 million euros ($245 million)in new emergency aid for Greece on Thursday to help refugees stranded in the country rent homes and pay for basics with a cash card.

"Europe means solidarity and this is what today's decision is about," the EU's migration commissioner, Dimitris Avramopoulos said.

European Commission? Nothing to do with the EU, responsible for Greeks sleeping in doorways and scrounging in dustbins?

Still, might go down well with accommodation owners.

Pay-per-mile scheme could replace fuel duty and vehicle excise in new electric revolution

Ministers are considering radical plans to scrap fuel duty and vehicle taxes and replace them with a pay-per-mile charging scheme.

The rise of electric cars has led to warnings that the £28billion raised annually from fuel duty is at risk.

Michael Gove, the Environment Secretary, has announced plans to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars in 2040 under the drive to electric.

Officials are understood to be seriously considering proposals by this year's winner of the £250,000 Wolfson Economics Prize.

Gergely Raccuja, a 27-year-old graduate from UCL, proposed abolishing fuel duty and vehicle excise duty in favour of a simple distance based charge.
