Canadians Responding to Abandoned Dogs in Greece

As more and more people in Greece face economic uncertainty, pets are usually unspoken victims that also feel the repercussions. A growing number of dogs are being abandoned by families who can no longer afford to keep them, creating a worse stray problem for urban centers in Greece.

Levante Ferries are (allegedly) applying to provide a Ithaka-Sami-Patras service, possible starting as soon as 24/07/15.[size]

From what I hear there will be two crossings daily Ithaka-Sami-Patras from 24/07/15-24/08/15, then one crossing daily 25/08/15-15/09/15, after which the connection will operate three times a week until 31/10/15. After that...

Latest I've heard, the Ionian Ferries Dionysios Solomos will be operating a daily service on the Ithaka-Sami-Patras route w.e.f. 28/07/15, departing Ithaka 07:00, Sami 07:30 arriving Patras 11:00. Departs Patras 12:30, arrives Sami 15:30. Departs Sami 20:00 for Patras. No mention of a departure time from Patras so it's back at Ithaka for 07:00 the next morning. Hey ho, maybe we'll see.
