Unconfirmed but heard some twenty nine migrants have been discovered on Megas Lakos beach (part of Xi beach), said to be fourteen men, five women and ten kids, one with a disability. Taken to Argostoli for processing before being sent to Athens.

Athens Cannabis Expo 2018 opens at Tae Kwon Do Stadium

A cannabis exhibition, the first in Greece, opened on Friday at the Taw Kwon Do stadium in Faliro to raise public awareness about the medicinal and industrial uses of the plant.

The Athens Cannabis Expo 2018, running to January 14, includes over 100 business entities from Greece and abroad who specialize in the use of cannabis in industry and medicine, the latter used for a wide range of ailments including reducing pain from chronic diseases.

'Action for Wildlife' rescues orphaned baby hedgehogs

Two orphaned baby hedgehogs will be among the animals that spend this winter at Thessaloniki's 'Action for Wildlife' shelter. Talking to ANA, shelter volunteer Stavros Kalpakis said that the two babies, found alone as newborns in a wood on the city outskirts in the autumn, will be released to the wild in March. According to Kalpakis, the shelter has helped more than 1,600 animals - especially birds - up until the end of 2017.
