Garden goal net warning as West Yorkshire fox cubs get in a tangle

People with football goal nets in their gardens have been asked to pack them away following use after two fox cubs were found tangled in the netting.

The foxes were found in gardens in West Yorkshire with the nets wound tightly around their necks, but were eventually released unharmed, the RSPCA said.

May is always a peak month for netting entanglements as young animals make their initial forays, the charity said.

RSPCA officer Allesha Haddlesey said: "Football netting can be lethal."

The stricken female cubs were discovered in netting in gardens in Alwoodley, Leeds, and Wrose, Bradford, in recent weeks.

Restraint urged by heart doctors during Easter feasts

The Hellenic Cardiology Society is advising heart patients to remove the saltshaker from the table, avoid the skin and fat from the lamb or goat and the nibbling that precedes the meal in order to avoid unpleasant surprises on Easter Day.

More specifically, professor of cardiology and president of the Hellenic Cardiology Society Giorgos Kochiadakis recommends restraint, especially among those who have followed the 40-day fast and heart patients.

New bridge linking Greece and Turkey to be built this year

The construction of a new bridge between Turkey and Greece near the Maritsa River marks a significant development in bolstering connectivity and streamlining transportation between the two neighboring nations. The existing bridge proved to be insufficient to meet the growing demand for passage.

According to Anadolu Agency (AA), the bridge to be built over the river would link the two neighboring countries between the Ipsala border gate in Turkey and the Kipi border gate in Greece.
