This article on protothema.gr caught my eye:
In Ancient Greece, prostitutes wore special sandals that printed a message in the ground reading, “Follow me”
It's credited to Vintage News, where there's quite a lot to read, such as
In 16th century Constantinople, not providing your wife with enough coffee was grounds for divorce
and
People used magic to get out of Roman toilets alive and other revelations about daily life in ancient world
Might come across as a 'satirical' (i.e. fake news) site but seems the stories are basically factual. Possibly worth a look if you've got some time on your hands:
