Revealed: Why two glasses of wine and 15 minutes of exercise a day is the key to a long life

The recipe for a long life includes exercising for 15 minutes a day, spending two hours on hobbies and enjoying a couple of glasses of wine, according to an ageing expert.

Dr Claudia Kawas, of the University of California, who has spent 15 years studying people aged over 90, also recommended keeping weight down and drinking two cups of coffee a day.

She also advised getting outside of the house and talking to strangers, rather than sitting doing crosswords or Sudoku.

Cargo ship quarantined in Gulf of Corinth after crew member dies

A cargo ship traveling from Italy to Greece has been placed under quarantine in the Gulf of Corinth amid fears that a contagious disease may have caused the death of a crew member, the Maritime Bulletin website reported on Monday.

The Antigua-flagged Blue Tune was carrying a load of bauxite from Ravenna in Italy to Aghios Nikolaos in the Gulf of Corinth when Greek authorities were alerted to the death of a man, said to be a cook, of an unknown disease.

Cook on cargo ship died of heart disease, coroner finds

A preliminary coroner’s report on Monday said that the death of the cook on a quarantined cargo ship was due to heart problems and not a contagious disease.
