Security is being stepped up at UK airports following pressure from the US.

The Department of Transport has issued a statement saying security will be tightened but would not provide further detail.

It said the "majority of passengers" should not experience significant disruption.

New Record of British Tourists Arriving in Greece

According to German travel operator TUI, more than two million tourists from Great Britain are expected to arrive in Greece this summer.

Reminds me... just before I left work today an elderly chap (well... he was older than me) popped his head in the doorway and asked where Starlight Hotel is. Reckons he'd been dropped off the Thomson mini-coach at the end of the square and told it's "up there". Also reckons Thomson had told him it was near Aeolos, where his daughter is staying. I thought he might be suffering from the heat so, as it's a fair way to drag a suitcase, I gave him a lift. Seemed quite compis mentis.

There again, he did say he'd pop back and hire a car from us, so there's reason to wonder
