Saiga antelopes: the Ice Age survivors now in peril

Central Asian antelopes - the saiga - are one of the few animals to have survived the Ice Age.

Once prevalent from Siberia all the way to western Europe, today they're a critically endangered species only found in parts of Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia.

Sainsbury's trials 'relaxed' check-out lane for elderly shoppers

A branch of Sainsbury’s is trialling a “relaxed” check-out lane for people who want a less hectic shopping experience.

The Prestwick supermarket’s “relaxed lane” - lane 24 - is open from 10am to 6pm and also features a hearing loop and staff trained in working with dementia sufferers.

The hope is that the lane will make the shopping experience more pleasant and less stressful for the elderly and those who simply would like a bit more support and time paying for their shopping and packing their bags.

What Supermarkets need is a simple sign at the till, YOU NEED MONEY TO PAY, how many people dither and bugger about holding you up whilst they try to find their card or cash, they know they have to pay, why the hell can't they have the money ready, certain people should never have been allowed to breed.
