Road taxes by the month: This is the process for payment
From Wednesday, May 1st, citizens have the option to pay their road taxes monthly through MyCar. The amount to be paid depends on the number of months selected by vehicle owners for circulation. For one month, they will pay 1/12 of the road tax, for two months 2/12, for three months 3/12, and so forth.
The right to lift the immobilisation is granted only once a year, and when the circulation period for which proportional road taxes have been paid expires, the vehicle must immediately be placed in digital immobilisation alternatively, large fines will be imposed.
Interested car owners must submit an application on the AADE platform of MyCar using their TaxisNet codes where they will fill in their personal details and vehicle information. Following an automated verification so as to ensure the vehicle is insured, the request is submitted, then payment will proceed for twelve-month equivalent of the annual road taxes corresponding to the months of immobilisation. This enables drivers to reacquire their car license plates and use their vehicle. In the instance that a driver pays road taxes for two months, they ought to be aware of the fact that they can choose any desired period to lift the immobilisation. https://en.protothema.gr/road-taxes-by-the-month-this-is-the-process-for-payment/

The number 112 will now accept video and photo calls and will guide those in danger
It has been proven life-saving in hundreds of emergency situations, such as fires or floods, forming a first line of defense against such phenomena that are becoming increasingly frequent due to climate change. At the same time, many incidents where our fellow citizens were in danger for their lives were successfully addressed.
We’re talking about our well-known 112, which, as revealed today by protothema.gr, is being equipped with new capabilities to provide even better services to citizens.
The new 112 is expected to provide a plethora of services, from video calls and communication in cases where there is no mobile network coverage, but only Wi-Fi, to an optimized and constantly evolving communication environment tailored to the needs of people with disabilities, a Silent Button for silent incident reporting (e.g., in hostage situations), as well as protection instructions even when the user is offline. It is a complex and demanding project for which a tender is already underway by the Information Society, with a total budget of 27 million euros (including the option right and VAT). https://en.protothema.gr/the-number-112-will-now-accept-video-and-photo-calls-and-will-guide-those-in-danger/

Shipwreck of Zakynthos: Closed this year from land and sea – What the Joint Ministerial Decision states This year too, the prohibitions that applied in 2023 will apply in full
The Joint Ministerial Decision of four ministers (Civil Protection, Maritime and Island Policy, Tourism and Climate Crisis and Civil Protection) was published in the Government Gazette, which provides for the prohibition of access to the Zante Shipwreck, both on the beach from the sea and from the land, from the so-called plateau.
According to the EIS, the prohibitions in force last year remain in full: No traffic and approach – anchoring of boats, nor swimming by passengers on board the boats anywhere in the bay and specifically in the sea area inside the imaginary line, which connects the two ends (north and south) of the bay. As far as the plateau is concerned, access by visitors is prohibited, with a prohibition limit of 10 metres from the edge of the slope.
The EIS on measures to prohibit visitor access to the area of the Zante Shipwreck. https://en.protothema.gr/shipwreck-of-zakynthos-closed-this-year-from-land-and-sea-what-the-joint-ministerial-decision-provides-for/
