Prototype washing machine has robot arms that fold clean clothes

It’s like something from the Jetsons – a robot washing machine that’ll fold your clean clothes into a pile ready for storage.

The huge device is a prototype which is unlikely to find its way into your kitchen any time soon, but provides a glimpse into how advancing technology could improve the most mundane tasks.

Panasonic have also developed a prototype 'walking fridge' that brings food to you. Nice if you've got a kitchen bigger than the average dwelling.

Earlier today police performed a drugs sweep in the Laikes area of Argostoli, unconfirmed local reports say six arrests made.

Total of twelve arrests made, one suspect still sought. Two drugs rings dismantled following six month investigation, one comprising eight local Greeks who trafficked heroin and cannabis and the other lead by two locally based Albanians with two local Greek accomplices who traded in cannabis. Heroin, cannabis, laptop and 15,500€ among items confiscated.

Measles on the rise in Greece

It said that some 100 cases of measles have been reported since June, a significant rise given that, before this period, the rate stood at roughly one infection per year.

A similar spike in measles cases has also been reported in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Romania.
