'Windows95man': the name of Finland's competitor in this year's Eurovision Song Contest (which I do not intend watching or listening to).

It looks like the central European nation of Australia (sic!) is out of the contest this year...

Sphynx has lowest life expectancy of domestic cat breeds, research finds

The hairless cats live on average for just 6.8 years, while a Burmese could survive to be 14, according to research

They may sound ancient but you should avoid a sphynx cat if you want a pet to grow old with, research suggests.

Experts have revealed how many years on average domestic cats in the UK have left to live based on their current age.

The results suggest burmese and birman cats have the highest life expectancy, with kittens in their first year of life expected to live for another 14.4 years. Unsurprisingly, the figures for remaining life expectancy decline as cats get older.

Germans call for kebab price cap as average costs skyrocket

A left wing political party in Germany is calling for a price cap on doner kebabs, as the cost of one of the country's favourite dishes soars.

Amid fears inflation could drive the cost of a kebab above €10 (£8.60), Die Linke has suggested subsidising the dish at €4.90 (£4.20) - and €2.50 (£2.10) for young people.

Kathi Gebel, a member of Die Linke's executive board told BILD: "It's not an internet joke, but a serious cry for help. The state must intervene so that food does not become a luxury item.”

The boss of P&O Ferries has admitted that he couldn't live on the £4.87 an hour some of its crew are paid, he told MPs.

Peter Hebblethwaite also revealed that he earned more than £500,000 last year, including a bonus.

In 2022, P&O Ferries, known for its Dover to Calais route, gained notoriety when it made 786 staff redundant before replacing them with people on lower wages.

Alexander the Great's bathroom is discovered after 2,300 years: Archaeologists uncover a room in Greece where the king bathed in a 'homo-erotic way with his teenage, testosterone-filled companions'

It is a palace that symbolised the golden age of antiquity, bore witness to the assassination of King Philip II and the crowning of his 20-year-old son King Alexander the Great.

Set in the ceremonial centre of the ancient Macedonian kingdom, the 15,000 square metre Aigai palace is three times the size of the Parthenon, with its gated city walls, courtyard, temples, sanctuaries, theatre, palaestra - or boxing school - and tombs.

Now, archaeologists have discovered the palaestra and bathroom where the teenage Alexander bathed naked with his childhood companion, rumoured lover and future military second-in-command Hephaestion.

The discovery, in the Royal city of Aigai, in the modern town of Vergina, Northern Greece, is unveiled in the final episode of the Channel 4 series Bettany Hughes' Treasures of the World, which airs on May 11.
