Greece Leasing Out Beaches for Business UseThe Greek finance ministry is moving full speed ahead with the lease of public beaches for business use including the rental of sea sport equipment, the placement of tables and chairs, umbrellas and recliners completing over 90 online auctions thus far and announcing an additional 130 in the pipeline.Aiming to ensure maximum participation as well as transparency in the leasing and licensing procedures, a new law allows parties wishing to make use of shoreline, beach or river bank, to bid online. A total of 130 beaches across Greece, including Spetses, Hydra, Poros, Aegina, Rhodes, Crete and Kefalonia are up for lease.Interested parties can apply online on the ministry’s Diavgeia site https://diavgeia.gov.gr/ within seven working days of the ministry announcement.
