Apple FaceTime bug lets anyone eavesdrop on your private conversations

An  iPhone bug that allows users to spy on people by video calling them has been discovered.

The bug allows callers to listen in on another person's conversation and even see video of them without their knowledge.

When a phone number is dialed on FaceTime - the iPhone's internet-based voice and video calling feature - the caller can swipe up from the bottom of the screen and tap an option to add a person, according to video demonstrations.

To listen in on someone, a user simply starts a group FaceTime call and adds their own phone number to the call before the recipient answers.

Users are seeing 'error 404' instead of their messages

Gmail has stopped working, leaving people unable to read their emails.

The website and app appear to be down and are failing to load.

Users report seeing a strange "error 404" instead of their messages.

Google said it was aware of the problem and would be posting updates as it attempted to fix it.

Former Labour MP Fiona Onasanya jailed for three months for lying to avoid speeding prosecution

Parliamentary rules require the removal of an MP who is jailed for 12 months or more so Onasanya will not immediately lose her seat but a recall petition can force a by-election if it is signed by more than 10% of the electorate in the Cambridgeshire seat.

In the wake of the guilty verdict in December, Onasanya was expelled from the Labour Party and has launched an appeal against her conviction.

Climate change: Planet-warming power of cattle urine can be avoided by restoring farmland, study finds
Greenhouse gases from livestock can be cut by ensuring pastures are healthy, scientists say

Scientists have found restoring cattle pastures brings an unlikely environmental benefit by cutting the greenhouse gas emissions from cattle urine.

The planet-warming power of methane gas emitted by cows is well known, but their urine is also a contributor to climate change.

When the animals urinate on pastures, they produce the greenhouse gas nitrous oxide, which like methane has a far more powerful climate effect that CO2.

Greece drops eight positions in world corruption index

Greece fell eight places in Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index last year, dropping to 67th position from 59th in 2017.

The country scored 45 points in 2018, down from 48 in 2017.

Although it fell last year, the country’s score is still nine points higher than in 2012, marking some improvement.

Denmark topped the list in 2018, with 88 points, closely followed by Finland, Sweden and Switzerland, which each scored 85. Greece ranked between the two bottom scorers in Europe: Hungary (46) and Bulgaria (42).

Is it me? If Hungary scored 46, Greece (being in Europe) scored 45 and Bulgaria scored 42 then Greece is one of the two 'bottom scorers'
