No, it's not the Robola Wine Festival all over again! This is for those in the UK, where it's not easy to get Greek wines at a decent price. As far as I know, there's only two Greek wines stocked in the supermarkets:
Mavrodaphne of Patras and
Retsina (which is getting harder to find):
Waitrose 75 cl £6.95 Tesco 75 cl £6.00 Asda 75 cl £5.78 Morrisons 75 cl £5.50 Sainsbury's 75 cl £5.50 Sainsbury's 75 cl £5.50If you haven't already seen the ads, Sainsbury's are currently offering 25% off the price of six or more bottles of wine. Normally £5.50 a bottle for Kourtaki Mavrodaphne or Retsina, the price for six bottles would be £33. This offer brings the price down to £4.125 a bottle, making a total of £24.75 for six bottles. For the normal price of £33 you now get 8 bottles, or two 'free'.
So far as I know, the offer ends Tuesday, 29 August.
If you can't find Mavrodaphne in with the red wines at Tesco, try the 'Other' section in
