'Lost episode' of Only Fools and Horses to be broadcast for the first time

A lost episode of the classic sitcom Only Fools and Horses will be broadcast for the first time next month, it has been confirmed.

Licensed to Drill has been locked in a vault since 1984, when it was shown in UK schools to educate youngsters about crude oil. Produced by the Maureen Oilfield Consortium, it runs for 19 minutes.

The episode sees Del Boy purchase an oil rig in yet another get-rich-quick scheme. But once he attempts to extract oil from beneath Peckham, he discovers that he's been conned.

Scenes from the episode will be broadcast by UKTV Gold in October to celebrate the channel's 25th birthday.

Taxpayers failed to pay 2 bln in July

The figure of 2 billion euros in unpaid taxes in July alone, shown the Independent Authority for Public Revenue, is a sharp illustration of the fatigue gripping tax-paying individuals and businesses in Greece.

Photographer wins 'monkey selfie' legal fight

A photographer has won a two-year legal fight against an animal rights group over a "monkey selfie" photograph.

Naruto the macaque monkey took the image in the Indonesian jungle in 2011 when it picked up a camera owned by David Slater from Monmouthshire.

US judges had said copyright protection could not be applied to the monkey but Peta said the animal should benefit.

Peta's appeal on the "monkey's behalf" was dismissed but Mr Slater has agreed to donate 25% of any future revenue.

In the joint-statement between Peta and Mr Slater, they say this case "raises important, cutting-edge issues about expanding legal rights for non-human animals".

No less than 106 college students at a university in western Greece handed in an identical assignment last June, according to the Athens daily "Kathimerini" on Tuesday.

The school's faculty senate then decided to punish the plagiarizing students by disqualifying them from the September exam period, meaning they couldn't sit any final exams for any course.

Chesterfield's 'awful' Princess Diana tribute mocked

A floral tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales, displayed as part of a town's well dressing celebrations, has been described as "horrific" and "awful".

The memorial displayed in Chesterfield Market Place marks the 20th anniversary of the death of the princess.

However, the portrait has been mocked on social media, with some saying it looked more like Worzel Gummidge.

Chesterfield Borough Council said it hoped the design would bring more people to the town.

A spokesman for the authority said: "The well dressing is produced by 14 volunteers using the ancient Derbyshire art of well dressing, which involves creating designs from flower petals and other natural materials.

"All art is meant to be a talking point and that certainly seems to be the case with this year's design."
