Kef fire risk 18/07/23: High

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £0.8845 GBP
1 €UR = $1.1567 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1306 €UR
$1 USD = 0.8645 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:
This is an overall forecast, due to the mountainous terrain the weather can be very localised.

Greek Airbnb property owner wonders if she should charge guests who leave due to fire

This question caused - reasonably - many reactions since at the time when so many areas and properties were burning, while there were also animal losses, a person was thinking about the way they could not be financially damaged in a minor way.

Parnitha: The fox became friends with people and posed for photos!

A fox appeared yesterday in Parnitha and was a sensation for all those privileged to see the curious animal.

The intelligent animal has become the region's mascot and seems to have found its place in the Buffy refuge as the animal appears almost every day to take walks in the company of the visitors and the incredible mountain view.

The familiarity of the animal with the people who visit the area is remarkable. The animal has become familiar with the human species to the extent that it walks alongside them while posing for the camera several times.
