City streets filling up again as traffic center breaks down

Greek motorists spend a total of 39 hours a year stuck in traffic, second only to Britain, where the congestion in London is legendary, a recent study by the European Commission has shown.

A tad difficult to believe that applies across Greece, e.g. on islands such as Kef.

Owner of dog that killed boy to have assets seized

A court in Kozani, northern Greece, on Friday ordered the seizure of all assets with a total value of 150,000 euros belonging to the owner of a dog that killed a 5-year-old boy last spring.

The mother of the boy, who was mauled by the Rotweiller during a family Easter outing, is seeking damages of 140,000 euros.

The host of the Easter lunch and owner of the dog has been charged with manslaughter and the Kozani court on Friday ruled that he had failed to properly train and restrain his pet.

Nigel Farage launches scathing attack on Ukip's 'low-grade people'

Nigel Farage has said he is relieved to no longer be Ukip leader because it had meant “having to deal with low-grade people every day”, in an interview where he said his £85,000-a-year salary had left him “poor” compared with his City banker friends.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Farage said he now has global ambitions beyond the Eurosceptic party, including negotiating trade deals with the US president-elect, Donald Trump, and finding a solution to the Middle East conflict.
