German returns gutter section from ancient Olympia to Greece

A chunk of a stone gutter from the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games, which was illicitly taken from Greece some 80 years ago, has been voluntarily returned by a German member of the public.

Greece's Culture Ministry said Wednesday that the 75-centimeter (30-inch) long ancient marble fragment was handed over to the Greek embassy in Berlin.

It is now stored at the museum of ancient Olympia, in southern Greece, where the Games were held in antiquity from 776 B.C. to 393 A.D.

Middle-aged told to walk faster

Middle-aged people are being urged to walk faster to help stay healthy, amid concern high levels of inactivity may be harming their health.

Officials at Public Health England said the amount of activity people did started to tail off from the age of 40.

They are urging those between the ages of 40 and 60 to start doing regular brisk walks.

They say just 10 minutes a day could have a major impact, reducing the risk of early death by 15%.

Tian Tian the giant panda is believed to be pregnant, say keepers at Edinburgh Zoo.

The UK's only female giant panda could be expecting her cub as early as Friday, the zoo said in a letter to the Scottish Government.

However they have warned that it is not yet certain whether they will be hearing the patter of tiny paws.
