A taste of Greece tonight on BBC2 @ 21:00

Rick Stein's Long Weekends - 9.00pm

The chef heads to the north-eastern Greek city of Thessaloniki, which nestles on the northern shores of the Aegean Sea. The city is revered as the gourmet capital of Greece and birthplace to possibly the greatest warrior general that ever lived - Alexander. Rick explores a city of many identities, boasting a young student population apparently hungry for dishes that reflect the freshest of seafood. Back home, he prepares veal and aubergine stew after meeting the doyenne of Greek cooking, Vafa Alexiadou.

The Eptanisa as a whole have been granted 10,000,000€ by the Ministry of Economy and Development for road maintenance and 4,000,000€ for the restoration and cleaning of rivers and streams for the period 2017-2018. No breakdown (as yet) of which island gets what or which roads/rivers.

Unconfirmed but heard that, despite the ship workers' strike, the Ionion Pelagos called into Fiskardo earlier today and delivered part of the iron bridge for the Myrtos-Fiskardo road, along with crane machinery. Second part of bridge coming in via Poros... at some stage.

Hundreds of Mirai-infected home routers across the UK are currently acting as DDoS bots.

The vast majority (99 per cent) of these 2,398 Mirai-infected devices are TalkTalk routers, according to security researchers at DDoS mitigation firm Imperva Incapsula.
