Greece Road Arrivals Grind to a Halt Due to Covid-19 Crisis

Despite picking up at the start of July when Greece reopened to tourism after Covid-19 lockdowns, arrivals to the country by road have nearly come to a grinding halt after mandatory testing requirements were put into place at the borders.

According to data, 580,000 travelers came to Greece by road in Q3 2020 accounting for a mere 8 percent of total arrivals recorded in 2019.

Dartford tourist flies to Corfu from Stansted on 'stolen and cancelled' passport according to HM Passport Office records

A holidaymaker has blasted passport officials for allowing her to unknowingly travel on a cancelled passport she was told had been reported stolen.

Georgia Haynes was hauled before Greek airport police when she landed in Corfu completely unaware she was travelling with an invalid document.

As it says in the article, Passport Control in Greece know the passport's dodgy but it didn't get spotted flying out from the UK?  :hmm:

Howzat! The story of Hellenic Cricket – from Corfu to Lemnos and Melbourne

It may come as a surprise to some that the English game of cricket has a long historical connection to Greece and Greeks. There is some evidence that a “cricket-like” games was played in Ancient Greece. Depictions of players, using sticks – or bacterium – and a ball, can be found as a relief on a tombstone in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. There is some argument that this may have been an early form of field hockey or cricket, but either way, the use of sticks and balls has a long history in Greece.

Seems the Municipality of Sami are supporting residents in their campaign against wind farms in the area. Been several protests recently.
