Some of the residents of Skala are concerned about abandoned houses around the village. Several of the old post-earthquake breeze block bungalows are continuing to deteriorate whilst nature is reclaiming what it can. Complaints about mice and cockroaches may be exaggerated but the overgrown vegetation is definitely a fire risk. The buildings themselves are probably liabilities but the land must hold some value. Tracing the owners could be difficult, possibly moved to USA or Australia some years ago.

Four new Isuzu fire fighting trucks in a nice shade of blue were delivered to Kef fire department this morning, one for each municipality.
I'd guess all fire trucks, new and old, that are assigned to Municipality of Argostoli, will be based in Argostoli. Despite the time it takes to get from Argostoli to Poros / Skala.

Antetokounmpo 5th Highest Paid Athlete in World
The basketball player rakes in 111 million dollars per year, between his salary at the Bucks and endorsements from big brands like Amazon, Nike and Pepsi
Antetokounmpo’s assent to the top 5 is even more impressive considering his rags-to-riches story, which originates on the streets of Greece where Antetokounmpo was an irregular migrant selling CDs with his Nigerian family. https://www.tovima.com/sports/antetokounmpo-5th-highest-paid-athlete-in-world/

Kozani: They cheated an 86-year-old woman and extorted 10,000 euros and 80 pounds – One arrest
A case of fraud against an 86-year-old woman, which occurred in January in Kozani, has been solved.
The woman had then complained that an unknown person claimed that a relative of hers was involved in a traffic accident, in which he lured and killed a pedestrian.
In this way, he managed to extract from her 80 British gold pounds, worth approximately EUR 32,000, EUR 10,000 and a gold chain worth EUR 100.
The authorities, after using the information provided by the 86 year old woman and investigation, ended up with a 42 year old foreigner.
Against him, a criminal case for fraud was formed, which will be submitted to the Prosecutor of Kozani. https://en.protothema.gr/kozani-they-cheated-an-86-year-old-woman-and-extorted-10000-euros-and-80-pounds-one-arrest/

Wildlife shelter treats fox hit by car in Halkidiki
A wildlife shelter said it was treating a fox cub that was spotted by passing drivers on the side of the road in Halkidiki, northern Greece.
Stelios Geronymakis, from the Animal Rescue and Defense Group, told state-run AMNA news agency that they were informed by colleagues of a local veterinarian that a two-month-old fox cub, weighing 1.2 kg, had been found in the wider area of Olynthos with injuries on the right side of its head and neurological problems. “As evidence shows, it was the victim of a traffic accident,” he said.
The animal was taken to another vet who administered a drug to reduce brain pressure. The fox is recuperating in a shelter away from people and other animals until its condition stabilizes. https://www.ekathimerini.com/news/1239105/wildlife-shelter-treats-fox-hit-by-car-in-halkidiki/
