INFRASTRUCTURE MINISTER VISITS CEPHALONIA Infrastructure, Transport and Networks Minister Mihalis Chrysohoidis visited the island of Cephalonia on Friday to assess the progress made in damage repairs caused by earthquakes."We're moving ahead with the construction of new works related to the road network in Paliki, the road network and pubic areas in Lixouri, which will be completed in a few months so that infrastructure on the island is better than before," Chrysochoidis said after a meeting with municipal officials.The minister also said a joint ministerial decision will be published next week giving the "green light" for a tender on the reconstruction of social housing in Lixouri."It's a social issue which concerns people of a working class town like Lixouri."Concerning the restoration of school buildings and ports, Chrysochoidis said plans for their reconstruction will soon be completed.
Police in Kilkis, in northern Greece, have arrested two suspects for stealing livestock from farms in the region.Authorities have also arrested a 47-year-old farmer on charges of buying and selling stolen property.
Up to 12 million websites may have been compromised by attackers who took advantage of a bug in the widely used Drupal software.The sites use Drupal to manage web content and images, text and video.Drupal has issued a security warning saying users who did not apply a patch for a recently discovered bug should "assume" they have been hacked.It said automated attacks took advantage of the bug and can let attackers take control of a site.Mark Stockley, an analyst at security firm Sophos, said... access could be used to take control of a server or seed a site with malware to trap visitors.
