The Remarkable Story of the Greek Spy Who Helped Defeat the Nazis

The story of Helias Doundoulakis is like a great war movie. It is the story of the Greek spy who helped Greece and the United States win the war against the Nazis.

"helped Greece and the United States win the war"... hmm, I think the UK and Commonwealth countries chipped in a bit, too  ;)

Kef fire risk 26/05/23: Low

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £0.8940 GBP
1 €UR = $1.1057 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1186 €UR
$1 USD = 0.9044 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:
This is an overall forecast, due to the mountainous terrain the weather can be very localised.

Ministers accused of betrayal after animal welfare bill scrapped

A bill aimed at banning live animal exports and introducing powers to tackle puppy smuggling has been dropped by the government over fears it would be forced into a vote on hunting.

Environment Minister Mark Spencer said measures in the Kept Animal Bill would now be delivered in different ways.

He told MPs he had to scrap the bill because Labour were going "to play political games".

However, one animal charity has accused ministers of "an astonishing betrayal".
