Seems Kef had a good year according to charter flight arrival figures from Kef airport.

235,858 passengers arrived in 2016 compared to 217,432 in 2015, an increase of 18,426 or 8.47%.

Of those, 7,955 arrived from the UK, a 5.30% increase.

Overall, UK arrivals accounted for 67.06% of the total arrivals.

Greeks smoke less due to economic crisis, study reveals

According to a British-Greek joint study conducted by the Imperial College of London, respiratory-related deaths in Greece declined during the years of the economic crisis.

The findings revealed that the declining deaths were directly related to the economic crisis that hit consumer’s disposable income and the price of cigarettes.

The economic depression also contributed to a drop in air pollution, according to the Athens National Observatory, as people reduced the use of their vehicles in the cities due to rising fuel costs and low incomes.

Pay a universal income because robots will take all our jobs, says Elon Musk

Elon Musk has said that there’s a “pretty good chance” that automation will entirely replace workers in the future, meaning governments will have to make for lost wages by paying people.

The billionaire founder of Tesla and SpaceX said that rapid changes to the workforce from automation is likely to force us to introduce a “universal basic income” in which people will have to be supported by a stipend instead of working for a living.

Musk has been vocal in his warnings about the potential downside of the rise of the robots.
