Quinoa genome could see 'super-food' prices tumble

The South American grain is a hugely popular "super-food" because it is well balanced and gluten-free.

On this day in 1355: University fracas ends with 93 dead and the birth of a 600-year-long tradition

Each side had grievances to vent. The students – in those days, trainee priests – were angry at being ripped off with high rents, inflated prices for food and drink, and general harassment. The city folk were resentful of the university’s courts, its ecclesiastical privileges, and the students’ frequent misbehaviour.
