Seems Kef municipality have costed the recent storm damage at 8,000,000 €, including two new projects to protect against future floods: one, an 800 metre drainage pipe at Laggada, the other a 426 metre pipe at Agia Efimia. Cost 1,500,000 € and 2,246,000€ respectively.

Municipal (?) property on Kef appears to be under the hammer: 25 wooden bungalows on Odos Spetson in Argostoli, total 6.523 sq. m. up for development into residential apartments; 68.450 sq. m. at Trapezaki, Afrato area, up for development as holiday homes or hotel; 14,752 sq. m. at Levkes, above Poros port, available for holiday home development; 21,943 sq. m. end of Ragia beach, Poros, available for holiday homes.

Heard work on the biological drainage plant outside Skala has stopped, with some pretty serious accusations made against former mayors of Elios-Pronnoi Makis Metaxas and Kostas Zapantis. Work also stopped on the new nursing home in Argostoli, contractor getting the blame for that one.

What a shame if they demolish the wooden houses in Argostoli, there are so few of the post-earthquake houses left on the island, particularly the wooden ones, which were a gift from the Finnish people. Hey-ho!

Sure the new build will be very des res but doubt anyone living in the wooden bungalows will be able to afford  them.
