Greece Gets Another Bailout Extension But The Basic Problem Still Isn't Solved

The negotiations between Greece and the Eurozone group have reached yet another declaration of victory. Pensions will be cut a little bit more off in the future, income tax will rise a little bit more off into that future again. At which point Hurrah! and the next disbursement of funds can happen to allow Greece to repay some of the loans it must meet this summer. The only real problem with all of this being that it doesn't solve the basic problem here. Greece is being asked to pay back a sum of money that Greece simply cannot pay back.

The reason these negotiations keep going on is because what is being asked isn't in fact possible:

Heard there's the usual Palm Sunday celebrations in Katelios this year. Not sure what time, think it's usually around lunchtime.

Amendment allows Greek farmers to purchase, lease state land they've cleared, cultivated for decades

The government on Wednesday inserted amendments into a controversial draft bill concerning forestry maps, which will allow farmers that have cleared and cultivated state-owned land for decades to actually purchase the expanse or simply continue their agriculture-related activity.

Think he had a brief role in BBC's Decline and Fall.

So if you start a fire that burns down a lot of forest, and cultivate it you get to keep it one way or another....    Expect a lot more this year.

Perhaps Mr Tsipras and his cronies want to become landed gentry?
