Man in Thessaloniki arrested over dog abuseAn 87-year-old man was arrested and fined on Tuesday after he was caught on video abusing one of his dogs in the region of Loutron Langada in Thessaloniki.The video posted on a animal lovers Facebook group shows the senior beating the dog with a stick. The post said said that the dog was examined by the veterinarian of the municipality and is in good health, at least physically.
British woman missing on Telendos found deadA 75-year-old British woman who went missing on the island of Telendos on April 30 was found dead. Her body was in an inaccessible area in Agia Triada on the island on Monday, May 15.
Pregnant British woman stuck in Rhodes hosptal and 'fearing for baby'A pregnant British woman is stuck in a hospital in Rhodes and says she is fearing for the safety of her unborn baby. Thurza Blagg, from Nottingham, was rushed to hospital when she began bleeding whilst on holiday on the Greek island.The 32-year-old, who is 28 weeks pregnant, is desperate to return home where she feels she can give birth safely. However, Ms Blagg says her insurance company AXA missed a chance to repatriate her, resulting instead in an urgent transfer to Alexandra hospital in Athens."It's not like the UK here, it's hard to understand what my condition is. There is a massive language barrier, when they're saying medical terms and I'm carrying my first full term pregnancy, it's hard to understand what's going on."I don't feel very safe, I don't feel like I've got a clear birth plan. They're changing my sheets today for the first time, I haven't been offered any food or water, my mum has to buy it all."Her mum, Kim, who has remained by her side throughout, said: "It's been disgusting, shocking and frightening. It's been an awful ordeal and because of there being limited visiting hours I've had to fight to stay in the room with her. We've had no support whatsoever, the insurance company has been terrible."

The USA was found to be the most expensive country, with an average price of £546, representing a 92% rise since 2019.While the UK, Cyprus, and Italy have all seen prices double over the same period, car hire is overall marginally cheaper than in 2022. However, it should be noted that rental companies with the cheapest headline prices may have hidden charges.

The bear snoozed on a thick branch before finally dropping to the ground by early afternoon on Sunday.Neighbour Ashlea Walter hauled mattresses from her house to soften the fall, newspaper the Traverse City Record-Eagle reported.
