Firefighters discover another dead body amid raging wildfires

Three days following the discovery of 18 deceased individuals, presumed to be migrants or refugees, in the Dadia forest situated in the northeastern Evros region, firefighters discovered the charred remains of another man, also suspected to be an asylum seeker, on Thursday, it was announced Friday.

Greece wildfires: 79 people arrested for arson

Greece has called out "arsonist scum" after police made 79 arson arrests over wildfires ravaging the country.

Civil Protection Minister Vassilis Kikilias said there had been several attempts by arsonists to start new fires on Mount Parnitha, north-west of Athens.

Monarch Airlines set to return to Luton six years after collapse with loss of nearly 2,000 jobs​​​​​​​

Monarch Airlines is set to relaunch six years after collapsing in 2017 with £466million debts and the loss of around 2,000 jobs.

The company, which operated out of Luton Airport, confirmed this week its new headquarters would be in the town with hopes the airline could take off again by mid-2024 using a small fleet of Airbus A20-family jets.

It appears the old Monarch brand is being revived. Few details have been announced, but the new owners say they are planning an initial launch of an online tour operator under the name Monarch Holidays in late 2023. Monarch Airlines will fly again “shortly thereafter”, once certification is completed.
