Hundreds of cabin crew at British Airways at Gatwick are being told to choose hefty pay cuts or redundancy despite the airline’s owners expecting to make more than €2.2bn (£1.6bn) in profits this year.

The most senior, long serving crew – cabin managers and pursers – were sent letters in the past few days telling them they would either have to accept new lower-paid roles as “customer service managers” by 14 September or lose their jobs on 31 October.

Well well well,all 157 passengers safely evacuated from Speedbird 2276 Heavy at an airport in Vagas today after an engine blew and caught fire during take off. Flight crew and cabin crew all commended for their complete professionalism during the incident. I know let's ask the cabin crew to take a heafty pay cut or 'do one'! If you want the best pay em.
