TalkTalk and Post Office routers hit by cyber-attack

Thousands of TalkTalk and Post Office customers have had their internet access cut by an attack targeting certain types of internet routers.

A spokeswoman for the Post Office told the BBC that the problem began on Sunday and had affected about 100,000 of its customers.

Talk Talk also confirmed that some of its customers had been affected, and it was working on a fix.

It is not yet known who is responsible for the attack.

Earlier in the week, Germany's Deutsche Telekom revealed that up to 900,000 of its customers had lost their internet connection as a result of the attack.

Hacked in just six seconds: How criminals only need moments to guess card number and security code

Criminals can work out the card number, expiry date and security code for a Visa debit or credit card in as little as six seconds using guesswork, researchers have found.

Experts from Newcastle University said it was "frighteningly easy" to do with a laptop and an internet connection.

Fraudsters use a so-called Distributed Guessing Attack to get around security features put in place to stop online fraud, and this may have been the method used in the recent Tesco Bank hack.

Everton manager changes 'red' Christmas tree after fans' complaints

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has changed the colour of decorations on his Christmas tree after fans saw red.

The Dutchman, 53, was inundated with complaints that his baubles were in the red of arch-rivals Liverpool rather than the blue of the Toffeemen.

It is certainly needed in Simotata and Vlahata. Both places are badly flooded and roads awash with mud and stones after heavy rain. JCBs thankfully are permanently kept in the area to clear the road.

I've noticed that on one of the shopping channels, they are now selling purses and credit card pouches with RFID (radio frequency identification) protection, which supposedly prevents your card details being hacked.
