Ten confirmed coronavirus cases in Greece

Two more coronavirus cases were confirmed on Wednesday, raising the total number to ten in our country. It involves a 66-year-old retired teacher from Amaliada and a woman from his immediate entourage. The male patient who had recently gone on an organized trip to the Holy Land, is in serious condition and is being treated at Rio Hospital.

Emergency measures are being enforced for the next 48 hours in the prefectures of Achaia, Ilia and Zakynthos, which include the closing of all public and private educational institutions, theaters, cinemas, sports centers, archaeological sites, museums and the cancelation of cultural events.

Confirmed cases of new coronavirus in Greece rise to 31

The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Greece has risen to 31, infectious diseases expert and health ministry spokesperson Prof. Sotiris Tsiodras announced on Thursday.

Warning against a "panic epidemic", Tsiodras nevertheless stressed the need to strictly adhere to hygiene rules.

Jolyon Maugham will not be prosecuted for killing fox with baseball bat while wearing kimono, RSPCA says

Mr Maugham sparked outrage when he revealed on Twitter on Boxing Day that he had killed the animal after became trapped in netting around a hen house in his garden.

Over 48,000 people signed an online petition calling for him to be prosecuted for his actions.
