Telegraph investigation: Drivers overcharged for motor insurance as firms use secret deals to inflate repair costs by up to 100pc

Every driver in Britain is being overcharged for motor cover because insurers are using secret deals to grossly inflate repair bills, a Daily Telegraph investigation has established.

Insurers are routinely inflating repair costs by as much as 100 per cent, while receiving undisclosed kickbacks for the difference, it can be revealed.

The system is used by insurers representing drivers involved in accidents which were not their fault to rip off rival firms representing the “at fault drivers” for repair work.

Possibly no great surprise there.

Hackers take control of US voting machines in less than 90 minutes

The US was one of the first countries to adopt electronic voting despite security experts remaining cautious. The use of the machines varies across the country and e-voting isn't available in all states.

The UK still sends its citizens to the ballot with a pencil and slip of paper, in part because of fears of cyber attacks. Other problems with digital voting systems include the potential for voter fraud and less privacy regarding citizens' decision.

A 74 y-o local on Corfu is being prosecuted for shooting a stray dog with a hunting rifle

...hm, not sure why the stray dog had a hunting rifle... let me re-phrase that:

A 74 y-o local on Corfu is being prosecuted for shooting a hunting rifle at a stray dog and injuring it.

Heard there was a fire earlier today towards Old Skala, between Skala and Ratzakli. Local firefighters attended, assisted by the two PZLs. Short vid clip from Apostolos Travlos:

Worst roundabout in Britain? Multiple crashes at 'lethal' roundabout cause concern

...a purported ten crashes in just 48 hours and been described as all but invisible, it might prove hard to shrug off the dubious honour of being branded Britain’s most dangerous roundabout.

The dangerous roundabout on a 70mph dual carriageway in Derbyshire only opened this weekend.

Even on the BBC news reports sometimes get it wrong, tickles me every time,   sad for the dog though

Nice bit of work - the vid and what looks like a very quick and efficient job by the firefighters.
