A brief history of democracy: Does it still convey the 'will of the people'?
The ancient Athenian ideal of direct plebiscite has over time transformed into a pre-fascist state of political being and is under direct assault from the machinations of the dark web

Greeks relieve stress at Athens first rage room

Forget yoga, meditation and spa. Stressed-out people in Athens can now relieve their tension by smashing televisions, keyboards, plates and other objects. In other words they can "make it all limba" as a popular slang phrase indicated in Greece which means spoil, mess up.

Limba is the name of the first anger room in the centre of Athens, where those who carry something emotionally difficult to bear, had a bad day at work or just want to have some fun can go and feel better.

Was going to have a quick look at the Hull Daily Mail but as soon as the website appeared so did a GDPR cookie notice. I could accept all the cookies or manage them. No 'no-to-all' option so 209 third-party cookie settings to un-tick, one by one. HDM isn't the only site to do this. What a joke.

(Yes, I've set Firefox to decline third-party cookies and remove (most) first-party cookies when I close the browser.)

Ithaki coast guard keeping busy: yesterday afternoon a routine check on the sailing yacht ΒΛΑΣΣΗΣ in Vathi port revealed that its Lefkas-based owners had chartered it out from from Agia Efimia for the period 20 May - 03 June for the declared sum of £1,000 whereas the hirer had paid £2,850 for the charter.

Also yesterday afternoon Ithaki coast guard performed an emergency transfer from PisoAetos to Sami of an infant in need of emergency medical treatment.

Ithaki in the news again: earlier today a 65 y-o passenger on the ΑΛΜΠΑΤΡΟΣ (Albatros) tour boat was taken to Ithaki Medical Centre and then to hospital in Argostoli after injuring himself while diving off the boat.
