The homes of DFB President Wolfgang Niersbach, his predecessor Theo Zwanziger, and former Secretary General Horst Schmid, were also searched.

It follows reports that a secret €6.7m (£4.9m) fund was set up to secure votes for Germany to host the 2006 World Cup.

Does the 64 bit download automatically?*  We have a 64 bit laptop and as Kath mainly uses it I tend not to think so much about the OS variant.

*And if so does it affect add-ons differently?

You cannot upgrade a 32-bit version of Firefox to 64-bit directly. What you need to do instead is download and install the 64-bit version, and have it use the Firefox profile that you are using in the 32-bit version so that you don't lose any data in the process.

I suggest that you create a backup of the profile before you do that though to be on the safe side.

Not sure that answers your question fully, Tony, might be best to have a look at the Mozilla site / forums, and maybe wait a bit until we see how the 64-bit version pans out (see comments to ghacks article)

LibreOffice 5.0.3 now available, also 4.4.6 for anyone using the 4.x version.

All LibreOffice users should update their software at least to LibreOffice 4.4.6, for security reasons.

Thanks Maik.  I won't manually update to 64 bit FF yet because of possible add-on issues.  A query on thewindowsclub page raises this but usn't answered yet.

Looks like this is a FF update that makes some very real differences.  Shame the tracking control is not available on regular browsing!

FEBE backs up your extensions, themes, bookmarks, preferences, passwords, cookies and just about everything else Firefox offers (it can even backup/restore your entire profile). You can selectively restore only the items you need. For instance, you may just want your bookmarks restored and leave everything else as it was.
