Thirty two new coronavirus cases confirmed on Kefalonia yesterday by EODY, two on Ithaka

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £ 0.8595 GBP
1 €UR = $ 1.1244 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1635 €UR
$1 USD = 0.8894 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:
This is an overall forecast, due to the mountainous terrain the weather can be very localised.

Rejuvenation of woman's skin could tackle diseases of aging
Researchers have rejuvenated a 53-year-old woman's skin cells so they are the equivalent of a 23-year-old's.

The technology is built on the techniques used to create Dolly the cloned sheep more than 25 years ago.

Rishi Sunak ‘was declared permanent US resident’ while being chancellor of UK

Rishi Sunak and his wife were legally declared to be "permanent US residents" while he was chancellor of the UK, it has been reported.

The claim comes after The Independent revealed that the Chancellor's spouse Akhshata Murty has non-domiciled status despite residing in Downing Street – potentially letting her off the hook for around £4.4 million in tax.

Now Sky News reports claims that the Downing Street couple held US "green cards" permitting them residence in the United States until more than a year into his chancellorship.

Holders of the green card are required to file US tax returns on their worldwide income – and also to make a legal commitment to "make the US your permanent home".

The pledge would seemingly be at odds with Mr Sunak's position as Chancellor of the United Kingdom, being a member of parliament since 2015 and minister since 2018, and the fact he lives on Downing Street.

We’re finding out more about dinosaurs than ever – but their sex lives still elude us

Dinosaurs' sex lives... long necks and little dicks - well, that's one explanation of why they're extinct  ;)

I know, I know, it's an old one.

But so are dinosaurs.

Misleading the country: Boris Johnson and ministers have made dozens of false statements to parliament

Dozens of false statements have been made in parliament by Boris Johnson and his ministers over the past two years amid a “crisis of honesty”, it can be revealed.

The prime minister has not lodged any corrections to the official House of Commons record, despite being reprimanded by the statistics watchdog and having his incorrect statements pointed out by opposition MPs and fact-checkers.

Labour has accused the government of disrespecting the public with a “litany of lies and falsehoods”, while the Conservative former attorney general Dominic Grieve said the figures suggested “a disregard both for good governance and truth”.

The 17 false statements attributed to Mr Johnson following an investigation by The Independent, working with Full Fact, include claims regarding Downing Street parties, refugees, Covid boosters, crime rates, and the economy.

They are among at least 27 uncorrected false statements made by ministers to parliament since the December 2019 general election.

Oh dear, Skala main street is getting locals hot and bothered and it's not high season yet. Allegedly the pedestrianisation of the main street is not included in the General Urban Plan, therefore is illegal. Hey ho!
