Not sure what purchases this applies to but heard that, in tourist areas, transactions of 70€ or over will have to be by credit/debit card.

And if you don't have either the vendor will refuse to provide the product or service?  Do you have to have the bill before you eat and drink?  In any event, 70 euro seems low: wouldn't pay for a good lunch these days.

Small fire last night in one of the shop units on Lithostroto, fire fighters on the scene pretty quick, don't think there was any injury or serious damage

The central cooperation union of wine products released a report on Wednesday stating that Wine production dropped by 16.24% in 2014-2015.

The report states that viniculture was adversely affected by weather conditions that prevailed in spring and summer last year.

The Greek Council of State has given the green light to private entities to lease and operate marinas across the country, without however having the right to claim ownership of the said properties.

Privatization will only proceed when it is to the public interest and complies with legal obligations relating to environmental protection and archaeological regulations.

Might be moving to Villa Zeus Temple. Looks like uniquekefalonia have been, er.... generous with the hospitality and got a plug in the Mirror - Kefalonia is small but perfectly formed for a relaxed holiday in the sunshine - and the Mail - Homage to Kefalonia: Captain Corelli's island has beauty, peace and a friendly cat called Arthur... what more could you ask for?

I didn't spend a lot of time reading either but the Mail review didn't look too bad. If anyone's looking for a friendly cat please drop me a pm asap, you can call the cat whatever you want.

Just 3,500 people live here – everyone waves at each other like long-lost friends as you drive around. It feels a lot more like authentic Greece and less of a resort solely for tourists.

It would be nice if it was 3,500, but 35,000 is nearer the mark.

The inaccuracy of these articles is quite astonishing.  If they can make these sorts of mistake in unimportant articles on subjects that are easy to check what sort of mistakes do they make in the rest of the stuff they print?

And why do they have to keep mentioning that film?
