Crickhowell: Welsh town moves 'offshore' to avoid tax on local business
The Powys tax rebellion, led by traders including the town’s salmon smokery, local coffee shop, book shop, optician and bakery, could spread nationwide

When independent traders in a small Welsh town discovered the loopholes used by multinational giants to avoid paying UK tax, they didn’t just get mad.

Now local businesses in Crickhowell are turning the tables on the likes of Google and Starbucks by employing the same accountancy practices used by the world’s biggest companies, to move their entire town “offshore”.

Come Dine With Me contestant identified as serial thief after appearing on Channel 4 show
Primary school teacher Sophie Hunter-Brown so notorious for shoplifting that her photograph was on the walls of an Asda staff room in South Wales

A disciplinary hearing was told Miss Hunter-Brown was spotted after her security camera picture was "plastered" over the walls of an Asda store following a string of grocery thefts.

She faced the threat of being struck off as a teacher after her crime spree was uncovered, but escaped with a reprimand on her record.

Updates to Chrome platform support

Today, we’re announcing the end of Chrome’s support for Windows XP, as well as Windows Vista, and Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8, since these platforms are no longer actively supported by Microsoft and Apple. Starting April 2016, Chrome will continue to function on these platforms but will no longer receive updates and security fixes.
