Unbelievable: Half the Greek population owe 86bln Euros to state!

According to the Public Revenue Services, data shows that 3.6 million Greek citizens owe money of up to 3,000 Euros to the state tax services. The report, made public Friday reveals the huge extent of the negative impact increasingly hyper taxation has had on the average Greek citizen.

Higher Taxes Loom on the Horizon as Greek Government Seeks New Revenues

What if all economic analyses point to devastating effects that high tax rates have on the Greek economy? In bankrupt Greece, raising ever higher taxes on all types of economic activity seems to be the only way Greek authorities know of how to satisfy the need for the repayment of loans made by the country’s official lenders.

Little wonder then that the second meeting of the government’s task force for fiscal affairs proposed again new tax hikes.

George Osborne funds plans for 18-mile Trans-Pennine tunnel beneath the Peak District
Chancellor invests £75 million into plans for one of the longest road tunnels in the world despite fears it may cause "psychological difficulties"

Britain is to build one of the longest road tunnels in the world, under plans to be announced in George Osborne's Budget.

The Chancellor will pledge an initial £75 million to fund the 18-mile Trans-Pennine tunnel beneath the Peak District to better connect Sheffield and Manchester.

Experts have previously warned that road users could suffer "psychological difficulties" because of the length of the tunnel, which will cost around £6 billion.

Problems including driver claustrophobia, limited visibility and poor air quality were flagged in a government report about the tunnel published in November.
