OTE starts Greece's first fibre-to-the-home for ultra-fast broadband

Greece's biggest telecom operator OTE Group flicked the switch on the first "fibre-to-the-home" ultra-fast internet connection on Tuesday which will help the country make a leap to faster speeds within the next four years.

Greece, which is slowly recovering from a protracted recession and exits its third international bailout in August, needs new generation infrastructure to digitalise its economy and help boost growth and tackle unemployment, the highest in euro zone.

After a few days of relaxing and indulgence in Crete, Millie Mackintosh is back to her healthy lifestyle on part two of her honeymoon with Hugo Taylor. The newlyweds have travelled to a new luxury hotel on the Greek island of Kefalonia that hosts wellness retreats, where they have been enjoying yoga, meditation and HIIT classes – as well as sipping wine by the pool!

Their hotel of choice is F Zeen Retreat.

Had to do a web search, apparently Ms Mackintosh is a former 'star' of Made in Chelsea.

Kef's definitely going downhill....  ;)

Tory vice chairs quit over Brexit

Two vice chairs of the Conservative Party, Maria Caulfield and Ben Bradley, are quitting their posts in protest at Theresa May's Chequers Brexit compromise plan.

Both have warned they will lose their seats unless the Tories deliver Brexit.

Ms Caulfield supported Leave in the EU referendum, and Mr Bradley backed Remain.

Greece’s population seen shrinking by 30,000 people in a year

According to estimates by Eurostat, this contraction of 0.27 percent comes against the European average, as the population of the bloc as a whole grew in that same period, albeit by just 1.1 million people or so, to 512.6 million from 511.5 million. This increase, however, is attributed to immigration, as deaths outnumbered births.

Worked OK at the Acropolis Museum in Athens (one of the pilot sites) when I was there in May.  Claimed you could avoid the queue but in fact there was only one queue into the building because of the security scan!  There were very few in the queue as it happened that day and there was a separate desk for exchanging web booking vouchers for tickets - so not a real test.  Well worth visiting of course.  50% reduction for oldies - until Brexit!
