One hundred and thirty new coronavirus cases confirmed on Kefalonia yesterday by EODY, three on Ithaka

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £ 0.8643 GBP
1 €UR = $ 1.11289 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1570 €UR
$1 USD = 0.8986 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:
This is an overall forecast, due to the mountainous terrain the weather can be very localised.

Local businessman wants to start a double decker tour bus based in Argostoli. Local taxi drivers crying the poor tale about how it will ruin their livelihoods. We'll see what pans out on that one.

UK gets first new-style pylons in a century

The first 36 of a new T-shaped design of electricity pylon have been wired up, National Grid has announced.

The pylons, the first new design in the UK since 1927, will be rolled out where possible across England and Wales.

Instead of an Eiffel-Tower-style lattice A-frame with a series of arms holding the electricity cables, they are strung below a cross-arm atop a single pole.

The aim is to reduce the visual impact on the environment.

Potty!!
With no such concern about wind turbine visual impact this seems rather pointless
