The Wise Men of the  NHS  have suggested that we go to  our GP or to a pharmacist our us the NHS helpline.  Unfortunately, the doctor's surgeries were closed from 23/12 until 29/12 and the local chemists were also shut over the same period.  There were directions to a pharmacy c5 miles away that was only closed on Christmas Day.  Only open 9 to 5.  I can't comment on the helpline as I couldn't get through.

Fortunately, the woman that lives up the road is an nursing auxiliary at the local hospital so we could always ask her to look at anything serious.
