Fox News has apologised for claims made on-air by terrorism commentator Steven Emerson that Birmingham, England is a "totally Muslim city".

Anchor Jeanine Pirro... continued: "The most recent census data, which is from 2011, indicates 22 per cent of the population of Birmingham identifies themselves as Muslim. Also, we could find no credible source that indicates Birmingham is a so-called no-go zone."

Earlier in the day, anchors apologised for using "inaccurate maps" of no-go zones in France and for referring to an inaccurate poll that said 69 per cent of French Muslims support Isis.

Unpaid bills to PPC top 2 billion euros

Public Power Corporation (PPC) [ΔΕΗ] has seen its cash flow enter the red as unpaid debts from bills have exceeded 2 billion euros, according to the official figures seen by Kathimerini. These figures date from the end of the first half of 2014 but PPC officials confirm that they will not have changed much as they reveal the overall problem of liquidity faced by most households and corporations.

The biggest share of the debts, amounting to 1.33 billion euros, belongs to households and very small enterprises.

Nasty accident on the Koutavos lagoon road yesterday when a young driver wrapped a car around a tree, fortunately escaping with only minor injuries to his foot.

The wealthiest 1% will soon own more than the rest of the world's population, according to a study by anti-poverty charity Oxfam.

The charity's research shows that the share of the world's wealth owned by the richest 1% increased from 44% in 2009 to 48% last year.

On current trends, Oxfam says it expects the wealthiest 1% to own more than 50% of the world's wealth by 2016.
