Canadian hunters want to club tens of thousands more baby seals to death in cull expansion

Hunters in Canada want to be allowed to club to death tens of thousands more baby seals each year in an expansion of their annual cull.

Hunting groups are lobbying the country’s government to approve a wider slaughter of seals and sea lions for their fur – including in a nature reserve.

That's 10 cigarettes A WEEK....

Good job there's no public transport smoking any more. A trip into work on the tube would have seen a non-smoker exposed to more than that, every journey!

Honestly, how long till it's suggested we breathe in and out fewer times a day, for our health's sake?

Ah yes, smoking... seems the government issued a decree exempting casinos and nightclubs over a certain size from the smoking ban. Earlier this week the Council of State nullified the decree. So the government issued a new one. Story here. As it says in the article, "the anti-smoking laws are essentially symbolic in Greece because they are rarely enforced except in certain areas and people can smoke almost wherever they want, including in hospitals."
