Escorted!?  Every man-jack of 'em should have been horse whipped and sent packing so my mate Nige tells me.

Heard they're Syrian refugees, going by this article in the Mail last week I doubt they wanted to be rescued by Greece:

Syrian refugees beg to leave crisis-hit Greece

Some 200 Syrian refugees protesting in Athens on Friday asked to be allowed to leave Greece, fearing deteriorating conditions in the crisis-hit country.

"Crisis-hit Greece alone cannot support the weight of accommodating war refugees," said Nander Halbuni, a representative of the Syrians who have been camping on Syntagma Square in central Athens for over a week.

"The only solution for ourselves and our families is to have the right to go to another (European) country to start a new life of dignity for our children," he told reporters.

I suspect Nige might be a reasonably compassionate guy but I doubt he'd want to extend them the right to settle in the UK.

He's been making other cats green with envy but a Bulgarian moggy's mysterious emerald coat may finally be explained.

Locals believed that the green feline, who was first spotted in the Bulgarian seaside town of Varna, had been attacked and painted the unusual shade by vandals, even setting up a Facebook group to catch the perpetrators.

But it has now emerged that the – as yet unnamed – moggy has been sleeping on the top of an abandoned pile of synthetic green paint in a garage.

Gradually, it is believed that the paint slowly covered the entire cat – giving him his unusually vibrant appearance.

The colour also appears to show no sign of wearing off as each nap the cat takes just makes the colour stronger.

A kids book, nicely illustrated and a great little (true) story:

Quote
The amazing tale of Ali Pasha – in pictures

Henry Friston, a 21-year-old sailor fighting in world war one, found a tortoise on the battlefields of Gallipoli. He called it Ali Pasha and resolved this was one innocent life that would not be a victim of a stupid war. This is their story...

We'll take the Syrians and the Greeks can have Nige - and we can throw in the Marbles after Russia's had a go.  Everybody happy!   ;)

Looks photoshopped to me or whatever they use for movies.  Too evenly coated to be green paint and the wrong kind of finish.  Think it's a fake!
