Teenagers steal puppy, feed it drugs, burn it, break its neck and leave dog for dead on rubbish tip
The culprits were under the infuence of drugs when they carried out the attack

A puppy survived after being stolen from his home, fed drugs, beaten and burned before being left for dead on a rubbish tip.

Chunky, the Chihuahua crossbreed puppy, was found in Margate by a passer-by the next evening.

Investigators said the dog had been kicked, punched and abused for several hours before being discovered.

Four youths, who cannot be named or legal reasons, admitted cruelly ill-treating the animal in a way which they knew would cause him to suffer unnecessarily.

LiFi internet: First real-world usage boasts speed 100 times faster than WiFi

At these speeds, a high-definition film could be downloaded in just a few seconds.

While Li-Fi may not completely replace Wi-Fi, the technologies could be used in parallel to create more efficient networks. The success of the pilot projects could see Li-Fi technology rolled out for consumers within the next three to four years, according to Solanki, allowing people to access the internet using the light bulbs in their home.

Snow forecast for Kef on Monday due to falling temperatures. Probably only atop Ainos... snow, that is. Think we'll all get the colder weather.

What forecast is this Maik? This is the usual one I look at, which shows static, or slightly rising temperatures (freemeteo)

Didn't keep the link, Rog. Think the forecast was from a Kefalonian guy who's a weather forecaster by profession - can't remember (or spell) his name. I'm not sure it will snow, but he's forecast it's likely to.

All the forecasts I checked around midnight were coming in pretty low, hence:

Forecasts taken around 21:00 this eve, all fairly low:

12 weather.com
12 wunderground
10 accuweather
10 meteo.gr
08 University of Athens

Let's hope freemeteo is right!!

Russians online say they’ll sun themselves on a different Mediterranean beach after the Turkish prime minister warned that his country’s military would respond to any Russian violation of its airspace, as Russian aircraft fly over nearby Syria bombing anti-Assad and ISIS targets.

Turkish tourism to be first victim of Russian jet crisis

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday advised Russians not to visit Turkey, adding that the threat of terrorism there was no less than in Egypt, where a bomb attack brought down a Russian passenger plane last month.

On Tuesday, many Russian users shared tweets suggesting that Russian tourists boycott Turkey.

Might be more Russians heading to Greece summer 2016

Interesting to see the wide variation! I keep max and min temperatures, so I will post the result and see which is closest. Freemeteo could be a bit optimistic, because lately we have been getting lower temperatures at night than they have predicted.

Some forecasts were nearer the mark than others, but Freemeteo didn't do too bad a job. Minimum temperatures were steady at night, although a bit lower than suggested on Freemeteo. This one was way off the mark! http://forecast.uoa.gr/index.php

But no snow, even on Aenos! I did notice a covering on the slopes above Patras, probably from the precipitation we had last Friday.

Saturday 28th  11c
Sunday 29th  13c

No, wasn't sure there would be snow, though I wouldn't have ruled it out. We got some hailstones the size of peas, think that was Friday, maybe Saturday.

Could be Freemeteo was spot on and your recordings are well out but, discounting that, I'd say uoa.gr was actually closer to your figures than Freemeteo, looking at these figures:

Nice to see the figures you recorded were pretty close to my compiled predictions!

The prediction by some guy on Kef, was that there would be snow and lower temperatures on Monday. What I was trying to prove was that this was unlikely. I think the clear skies, sunshine and fairly constant temperatures go to prove that his prediction was unfounded. When I said uoa was off the mark, it was not aimed at temperature, but rather the weather conditions they had predicted for Sunday and Monday.

"Some guy on Kef"? C'mon, Rog, this is GGi, not Facebook.

Think the forecast was from a Kefalonian guy who's a weather forecaster by profession

AFAIK, he's a Kefalonian guy who's a weather forecaster by profession, where he lives...
  :dunno:
Yes, he predicted snow. He didn't get it right. It was in Grapevine/News Briefs  ;)

That's how you gave me the impression you were talking about temperatures.

But you're right - things are certainly hotting up!

There was snow on the mountain tops on the mainland, when I flew in from Athens last Monday.
