Why some people find learning a language harder than others

Most learning occurs when the brain is at rest, which is why sleep is so important.

Snowfall and low temperatures across the country

Heavy snowfall has been recorded across the country from early Wednesday (20/01). Snow has fallen in central Greece and traffic in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas is only conducted with the use of snow chains.

Designs for new kiosks chosen

The Greek capital may see a new generation of kiosks after the City of Athens handed out awards Tuesday for three designs to replace the old street stands.

The municipality has removed 214 defunct kiosks from the city’s sidewalks since 2012. It recently held a competition for architects to come up with a new design for the structures.

“The image of illegal extensions around today’s kiosks has to come to an end,” said Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis.

I quite like the old wooden ones. I've seen some new ones (Argostoli / Patras), different construction material, no smaller footprint.

Seems the Sami-Patras ferry service will (or has) stop running until at least Easter.

Well remembered! Periptero to go

"when a kiosk closes down or the owner dies, the license cannot be renewed or transferred"
