Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £ 0.8810 GBP   £1 GBP = 1.1350 €UR
1 €UR = $ 1.1220 USD   $1 USD = 0.8912 €UR
1 €UR = $ 1.7033 AUD   $1 AUD = 0.5870 €UR
1 €UR = R21.6103 ZAR   R1 ZAR = 0.0462 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Nadine Dorries pledges to repay mistaken £17K exit payout

Former Tory MP Nadine Dorries says she will return £16,876 in severance pay she mistakenly received for being a cabinet minister.

Government accounts show she received the exit payout from her tenure as culture secretary under Boris Johnson.

But the rules say she should not have received it, because she had reached the age of 65 when she left office.

Ms Dorries said she only received an email about the admin error on Friday.

Speaking to BBC One's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, the ex-minister said she would repay the money "on Monday morning".

Alexander the Great's Father and Son Identified in 2,300-Year-Old Tombs

Archaeologists say they have unraveled the identities of human remains in an ancient Greek royal tomb that are "among the most historically important" skeletons in Europe.

According to a study published in the Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports, the skeletons they investigated belong to the father, the half-brother and the son of Alexander the Great—ruler of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon between 336 B.C. until his death in 323 B.C.

During his reign, the legendary leader waged extensive military campaigns, creating one of the largest empires ever seen—spanning from Greece to northwestern India. Undefeated in battle, he is widely considered to be among the most successful military commanders in history.
