Seventy four new cases of coronavirus confirmed on Kefalonia yesterday by EODY, one on Ithaka.

Today's bank rate:
1 GBP = € 1.1523
1 USD = € 0.8488

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:
This is an overall forecast, due to the mountainous terrain the weather can be very localised.

George Panayi: Met Police sergeant who kissed officer’s cheek avoids dismissal

Sergeant George Panayi, 48, part of the East Area Command Unit, was accused of kissing and pinching the cheek of the female officer – without her consent – while on duty.

He was also accused of opening the door to a lavatory knowing the female officer was inside.

Sgt Panayi told the hearing this week that it was not uncommon for him to kiss colleagues on the cheek when congratulating them on a promotion, greeting them after a long absence or when having “a bit of fun” with them.

He said: “There’s a cultural side to it, me being from a Mediterranean Greek origin."

Tory fury at Boris Johnson's attempt to 'kowtow' to China with new trade talks despite Beijing stifling democracy in Hong Kong and targeting party MPs critical of human rights abuses against Uighurs

Tory MPs have accused Boris Johnson of trying to 'kowtow' to China after it emerged he is seeking new trade talks with Beijing.

They reacted with astonishment that he is seeking to warm relations at a time when the Communist regime faces global condemnation over human rights abuses while flexing military muscles.
